The Urban Data Platform (UDP) is the digital heart of a Smart City. The state capital Potsdam aims to create a central data marketplace using the Urban Data Platform, enabling the processing and visualisation of data from various sectors such as supply and disposal, administration, healthcare, construction, mobility, logistics, transport, economy, etc. The UDP will be available to both data providers and users.

The city of Potsdam holds a vast amount of data from the aforementioned sectors, but these are currently scarcely interconnected. The UDP will enable the state capital Potsdam, municipal and private enterprises, as well as other stakeholders in the city, to link data and make it accessible to interested parties. The data collected in the UDP will enable evidence-based monitoring of various city measures. This data will make it easier to track changes and make better predictions for the city, benefiting the residents, the economy, science and administration.

One of the cooperation partners in this project is Potsdam's municipal utilities, which are involving additional external implementation partners. For the training and implementation of the first applications, the data platform of Hypertegrity AG is being used.

Previous platforms often presented data in the form of charts and overviews. These representations are often difficult for citizens to understand and interpret. Therefore, the goal of the 'Urban Data Platform' working group is to provide the residents of Potsdam with detailed and easily understandable information. The aim is to create a website that presents information and data in an understandable way with visual representations, thus making it accessible to citizens.

The UDP will primarily visualise data from the LoRaWAN sub-project. In addition, the Open Data Portal of the state capital Potsdam (open data to increase transparency in administration) will gradually be integrated into the UDP.

One of the key focus areas for further data is water.
