Krampnitz will grow into a district with up to 10,000 inhabitants over the next 10 to 20 years. But what will Krampnitz look like? And how will the district be connected to the city centre? The Krampnitz Participatory Neighbourhood Model (PaSMo) provides the answers.
PaSMo is used to represent neighbourhood development and is currently addressing challenges such as climate resilience and increasing demand for housing. In collaboration with the development agency Potsdam GmbH (ETP), an interactive planning table was implemented in Phase A to make the complex processes of urban planning more accessible to citizens and gather their perspectives through participation events.
The sub-measure will be further developed in Phase B as a web application and integrated into the Krampnitz website. The further development of the Participatory Neighbourhood Model as a web application will enable greater participation than before, as it can be used independently of time and location. The proposed neighbourhood development scenarios for Krampnitz promote exchanges with the city community. In addition, changes in the planning process can be more easily illustrated.
The model uses urban planning data to visualise concrete projects for Krampnitz and can facilitate low-threshold exchanges with interested parties at various locations. The processes and approaches tested in the Participatory Neighbourhood Model (PaSMo) can also serve as a blueprint for further urban development areas in Potsdam. Through the
Through the use of open-source software, the project will also be transferable to other districts or municipalities in the long term.
